Changelogs: May 2025

Summer’s almost here, and just like your game servers, we’re heating things up early 🔥 This month, we rolled out faster cold starts, support for external container registries, and a new way to keep containers warm and ready. No sunscreen required.
🚀 Faster node scale ups
We’ve added deeper caching to our platform by baking system components directly into our hardware fleet. The result? Nodes now spin up 40% faster.
During scale spikes, you’ll see capacity come online quicker with no configuration changes needed.
🧱 Build from public or private registries
You can now create builds directly from external container registries whether it’s public or private. Just provide the image reference, and if it’s private, include your access token. Keep in mind, you’ll need to push a new build each time your image is updated.

♨️ Static process allocation (Beta)
With static process allocation, you can define a target number of containers to keep warm and always ready to serve.
- Running CI/CD pipelines? Maintain a fleet of runners to eliminate cold start delays.
- Managing game servers? Pre-allocate servers so players never wait for a spin-up. Your server should handle sitting idle until it receives a match or job assignment.

⚠️ This feature is currently behind a feature flag. If you're interested in trying it out, reach out to our team and we’ll get you set up.
🛠️ UBA on Hathora
You can now run your Unreal Build Agents (UBA) on Hathora using Linux containers—starting with games built on Unreal 5.5 or above.
You still need to host your Horde server outside of Hathora, but we’ll handle running your agents. If you’re interested in running your UBA on Hathora to leverage cost-efficient bare metal, reach out!
